I've never been to Downtown Erie. What is it like?

Downtown Erie offers a variety of conveniences and attractions. It's within walking distance to Erie's Bayfront and Lake Erie, providing access to rooftop bars, boating, mini golf, and bike trails. Presque Isle State Park is a short drive away for those who love the outdoors. The area features coffee shops, a climbing gym, local shops, a food hall, breweries, sports complexes, a golf simulator, theaters, an art museum, and a children's museum. These apartments are just two blocks from UPMC Hamot Hospital, one block from Gannon University, and one block from Erie Insurance, with additional Erie County attractions accessible within about 15 minutes by car.

Do the buildings have elevators?

Yes - every apartment building has an elevator. Most are large enough to accomodate moderately sized furniture to assist in moving.

Do additional roommates have to apply?

Yes - anyone who is going to be residing in the apartment must apply for the apartment.

Do you accept co-signers?

Yes. A co-signer will need to apply for the same apartment by selecting "I am applying as a guarantor/co-signer for another applicant. (I will not be living on the property.)"

Where do I park my car?

Feel free to park your car in the nearby parking garage owned and operated by the EDDC at a monthly rate of $85. Additionally, the Erie Parking Authority oversees various garages in the vicinity. While metered street parking might not be as popular as garage options, it remains available. Meters operate Monday to Saturday, with Sundays and evenings offering free parking.

What are the qualifications to being approved?

To qualify for an apartment, each applicant must complete an application on our website. Applicants need to have an income of at least 2.5 times the monthly rent. This requirement also applies to co-signers. Additionally, all applicants must pass a comprehensive background and credit check.

May I bring a pet?

Absolutely! Furry friends are considered part of the family here. Please note that our pet policy is limited to dogs and cats, and restrictions may apply. Pet fees are set at $25 per month. There is also a one-time refundable fee of 1/2 the cost of one month rent. Please review individual apartment listings for specific pet policies.

What are all of the fees, including utilities?

Utilities that are separate include:

  • Electric based on usage through Penelec.

Utilities that are added to rent include:

  • Water, fee based on usage.

  • Internet provided by VNET $60/month.

What other fees should I consider?

  • Application fee of $50 per applicant and co-signer.

  • Security deposit equal to one month of rent.

  • One-time refundable pet fee equal to 1/2 one month rent.

  • Pet fees are $25/month.

  • Parking garage operated by the EDDC is $85/month plus one-time $15 for physical card.

  • Additional 5ft x 5ft storage locker based on building and availability is $50/month.

I see an apartment I like, but I'm not yet ready to move. What do I do?

Depending on availability, a unit may be held for you for up to 3 months with applicable fees and a security deposit. Hold fees are as follows:

  • 1 month = complimentary

  • 2 months = 20% of rent

  • 3 months = 30% of rent

I am ready to move into my apartment right now. Is that okay?

We're happy you're so excited to move in! Upon receiving approval for your apartment, please give us 2 business days to complete your move-in process. Rushing your move-in might mean we miss something, and we really want your experience to be as smooth as possible. Thanks for understanding!
